Transforming a Stunning Kitchen in Reigate, Surrey
When we were approached by clients who live in Reigate, Surrey, they had a clear vision in mind: to refresh their stunning painted kitchen without the hassle and cost of a complete renovation. Though beautifully made and built to last, their existing kitchen had started to show signs of wear and tear, as you would expect in a household with children and animals. The beauty of kitchens built for a painted finish is that you know that with a fresh coat of paint, they will last until you are bored of the colour again.

A Kitchen Worthy of a Fresh New Look
This wasn’t just any kitchen; it was a beautiful space with custom built cabinetry, marble countertops, and carefully chosen fixtures. The kitchen was part of a wonderful family room with dining area so the colours needed to tie in with the rest of the space. Our clients valued the investment they had made in creating a space that was not only functional but stylish and fitted in with their family values. The overall look was changed within the 5 days we were on site by switching up the colours and choosing a darker, bolder colour on the island and tall wall units.
Before
After
Why have a kitchen sprayed instead of hand-painted?
Obviously, it is an entirely personal choice; some clients love the charm of a brushed finish, and that’s completely fine. For some older properties, it’s more in keeping than a perfect, almost factory-finished kitchen. However, spray painting is the ideal choice for homeowners with premium kitchens. The process delivers a factory-like finish that highlights the beauty of the existing carpentry while adding a fresh layer of paint that completely changes the atmosphere of the room.
Attention to Detail
As with any kitchen we are involved in, every step is taken with thought and precision. The preparation and painting process begins after carefully masking and protecting every inch of the kitchen and surrounding area. The colours chosen by the clients were Slaked Lime Deep by Little Green on the main units with the tall cabinet and island in a darker contrasting colour which was Pigeon by Farrow & Ball. We also painted the larder cabinets in Slaked Lime Deep with the tongue and groove panelling at the back in Downpipe by Farrow & Ball.
Each cabinet door and drawer was removed, carefully prepped, and primed before being sprayed with top coats of colour. The paints we use are tried and tested and can be colour-matched to most designer colours. The result? Although the colour change was subtle, the kitchen looked brand new, with cabinetry that felt as fantastic as the day it was first installed.
The Final Reveal
When our clients saw their newly painted kitchen, their reaction was priceless. The new colours gave the room a sophisticated, contemporary feel while maintaining the integrity of the original design. The colours tied in well with the rest of the room and complimented the space. By investing in spray painting, they not only refreshed their space but also preserved the quality of their existing kitchen – which is a smart choice for any homeowner looking to increase the value of their property without the disruption and added cost of a full-scale renovation.
